Mission | Why Join? | Purpose & Objectives | Board of Directors Why Join the SIAC There has never been a better time to join the Ontario Chapter of the Scaffold Industry Association of Canada. Scaffolding and Access now play a significant role in most projects both in the Construction and Industrial markets in Ontario The SIAC encourages and promotes high standards of safety within the industry and provides essential technical support, training and expert information both to our members and their clients There are currently six permanent sub committees that constantly updates and reviews the specific needs of Fall Protection, Mast Climbing, Scaffolding, Shoring, Swingstage and Powered Elevated Work Platforms. These committees work closely with the Construction Safety Association of Ontario and the Ministry of Labour, both of whom actively participate in the SIAC. Through this process the SIAC has recently published a Code of Safe Practice for Scaffolding and Swingstage for the Province of Ontario and has members that are actively involved in reviewing the current Standards for Scaffolding within the Canadian Standards Association. Change is a constant factor for our members, be it from government legislation, the economy or various industries that they are involved in. We provide regular updates to our members in a timely fashion. Membership also provides the opportunity to meet new contacts, exchange views and ideas at both the annual and general meetings.
