Purpose: The purpose of the Association shall include but not be limited to the following:
- To encourage the highest ideals and ethics amongst its members in their relationships with their customers and other members
- To safeguard and advance the interest of the members by presenting the industry’s viewpoint to all appropriate legislative and regulatory bodies, and by developing a working relationship with relevant government agencies
- To represent the industry in the development of reasonable product standards and procedures for the maintenance of those standards
- To collect, interpret and disseminate information on all subjects of interest to the industry
- To promote and expand interchange among those involved in the industry
- To utilize membership participation through the committee structure as the vehicle for developing programs and activities of value to the industry
- To conduct other lawful activities of benefit to the industry, as approved by the Board of Directors
Objectives: The objectives of the Association include but shall not be limited to the following:
- To promote high standards of safety and assist with finding solutions to all safety issues within the industry
- To work with Federal and Provincial agencies to develop practical safety standards, including Ministry of Labour, Canadian Standards Association and Construction Safety Association of Ontario
- To assist members in becoming more efficient and effective in their business endeavors
- To be a source for training, expert advice and educational information to members and their clients
- To provide a marketing network for all members
- To improve communications within the industry via web site and all other forms of correspondence
- To advance the reputation of the SIAC as a member driven organization whose members are accountable to the highest professional standards
- To expand membership to all parties directly or indirectly associated with the Scaffold and Access industry
